Dalam sebuah negeri, terdapat seorang pandai emas yang kaya. Di negeri itu juga, ada seorang pandai besi. Malangnya, besinya tidak selaris emas yang dijual oleh pandai emas. Pandai emas selalu memandang rendah terhadap pandai besi.

"Besi tidak berguna. Emas lebih tinggi dan mahal harganya ," kata pandai emas.

Pada suatu malam, pencuri memasuki rumah pandai emas. Kesemua emasnya telah dicuri. Namun begitu, pandai emas tidak putus asa. Perniagaannya semakin maju.

Nasib malang menimpa pandai emas lagi. Pencuri masuk ke rumahnya. Pencuri telah mecuri kesemua emas yang
dikumpulnya.

Pandai emas sungguh kecewa. Akhirnya, dia berjumpa dan mengadu kepada pandai besi. Pandai besi mencadangkan pandai emas membuat senjata bagi mengawal rumahnya.

Pandai emas bersetuju. Dengan menggunakan senjata buatan pandai besi , akhirnya pencuri itu dapat ditangkap.

Kedua-dua mereka berasa gembira. Pandai emas dan pandai besi akhirnya menjadi rakan karib. Semenjak itu, pandai emas tidak memandang rendah akan pandai besi.
