Read the passage below and answer the question that follows.

At one time, reading was a main leisure activity. Today people have lost their passion to read. That is a shame because reading is said to significantly improve one�s vocabulary and word power. The habit of reading also helps readers to acquire new knowledge. This knowledge comes in handy in everyday conversations or when asked to write on certain topics.
It is observed that children and teenagers who love reading have comparatively higher IQs. They are more creative and do better in school and college. According to studies, reading increases a student�s ability to concentrate. Therefore, reading can help students concentrate better in class. Reading can also develop positive values in students. Studies have shown that students who learn to read early are less likely to take drugs, drop out of school or end up in prison.
The many benefits from reading cannot be doubted or questioned. Therefore, we should groom children to become lifelong readers.
